POMEGRANATE HAUS takes its name from its pomegranate tree in colorful and vibrant garden. It is a cozy holiday home in the heart of Melides, a small Portuguese town just south of Comporta. The house is part of a traditional terraced row, built in a simple Portuguese style and recently thoughtfully adapted for relaxed seaside stays. It's not about polished luxury. It's about warmth and the feeling of being at home. Everything you need for an easy family holiday is here: a fully equipped kitchen, comfortable bedrooms, flexible spaces for children to play, and a welcoming courtyard that extends the living area outdoors. The beach is only three minutes away by car, and shops, cafés, and restaurants are just around the corner on foot.
The house has around 100 square meters of living space, designed for comfort and practicality. You enter into the living room, the heart of the home, with stairs leading to the upper floors. On the ground floor you’ll also find a bathroom, the well-equipped kitchen (dishwasher, oven, microwave, washing machine, dryer, and all essential cooking tools), and a dining area that’s perfect for family meals.
At the back, the Mediterranean-style courtyard is the real highlight: a large daybed invites you to lounge in the shade, children can play safely, and evenings can be spent around the barbecue. Lush plants, blue tile details, and an outdoor shower make it a cheerful extension of the house. Upstairs, there are two comfortable bedrooms and a bathroom with shower. The loft spans the entire footprint of the house and fills with natural light — a flexible space for extra sleeping, a kids’ playroom, or a quiet corner for reading, yoga, or simply resting. With central heating and air conditioning, POMEGRANATE HAUS is just as inviting in summer as it is in winter.

Daily life here is calm and authentic, with a handful of cafés, local restaurants, and small shops within walking distance.
For those interested in art and design, Christian Louboutin’s hotel Vermelho is only a short stroll away and has become a local landmark. The beach, reached in just a few minutes by car, offers wide sandy stretches and space for children to run and play. From Melides, it is also easy to make day trips to nearby Comporta or to explore the unspoiled Alentejo countryside.
